Questions about damp and mould
What does the inspection include?
We come out, find the likely cause and send you a written report with a fixed quote. It's £50, and that's taken off the bill if you book the work. This is a contractor's inspection, not a RICS or specialist damp survey.
What's in a mould treatment?
A fungicidal wash to kill the mould, a stain-block primer so marks don't bleed through, then 2 coats of anti-mould paint.
What if the room needs better ventilation?
If we find poor ventilation, we can arrange a new extractor fan as part of the fix.
I'm a landlord or letting agent. Can you help with Awaab's Law?
Yes. Awaab's Law already sets time limits for social landlords to investigate damp and mould and send tenants a written summary, and the government is consulting on extending it to private renting. We turn reports round fast, so you have a written report and a fixed quote to act on.
How soon can you come?
Usually within the next couple of weeks, including Saturdays.
Do you charge VAT?
No. We don't charge VAT, so there's nothing to add to our prices.
Why do you want photos?
Photos of the mould or damp, the whole wall or ceiling, and any windows or fans in the room help us confirm your price. A wide shot and a close-up are ideal.
